The Spotify playlist I used to study for the NCLEX. A good variety with a mix of movie scores, classical piano, video game soundtracks, lofi beats and more.

How I Survived Nursing School

These are some of the resources that I used when I was in school and that I continue to use to supplement my Nursing education.

Nursing.com (Formerly NRSNG)

Nursing.com is an online platform that contains resources such as video lectures, patho sheets, audio files, printable PDF’s, ebooks, and even a Simulated NCLEX exam. Nursing.com continues to be my go-to resource for supplemental nursing education because it is efficient. Lessons are condensed in such a way where difficult content is easier to understand and remember.

Its services have changed a lot since it first came out. Originally, it was a way to help nursing students. Now it offers resources for all levels of nursing, from pre-nursing students to new graduates.

Picmonic

Hard memorization is sometimes necessary for nursing, but making flashcards or repeating things in your head over and over is not the most efficient use of your time. I stand by Picmonic’s claim that you can “Remember More in Less Time”. It does this by presenting cartoon characters and stories of nursing topics and facts to help with memorization and learning.

This helped not just so I could memorize content for an exam, but to learn what is needed to be a component nurse. I used it in nursing school and to prepare for the NCLEX. It covered topics such as Pharmacology, Pathophysiology,  Pediatrics, Obstetrics, Mental Health, and Nursing Fundamentals.
